1. About these terms
These terms govern your use of AppyTax, our HMRC-recognised Making Tax Digital software. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms.
2. Your account
You must provide accurate information when registering and keep your login details secure. You're responsible for activity on your account. You must be a UK sole trader (or landlord) using the service for your own business or property tax obligations.
3. Your responsibilities
- • Keep accurate and complete digital records of your income and expenses.
- • Review your quarterly updates and final declaration before submitting them to HMRC.
- • Submit on time to avoid HMRC penalties — we'll remind you, but the obligation is yours.
- • Ensure the information you submit to HMRC is correct.
4. Subscription and payment
AppyTax is £50 per month, billed in advance. Information entered for previous months will be back dated at the monthly subscription. Payment is taken automatically each month. You can cancel at any time from your account, with access continuing until the end of your current billing period. Fees are non-refundable for the period already paid.
5. HMRC submissions
AppyTax acts as your agent in submitting quarterly updates and final declarations to HMRC through a secure, recognised connection. We're responsible for transmitting your data accurately; you're responsible for the accuracy of the data itself and for meeting your tax obligations.
6. Acceptable use
You won't misuse the service, attempt to gain unauthorised access, submit data you know to be false, or use AppyTax for any unlawful purpose. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms.
7. Limitation of liability
AppyTax is provided to help you meet your MTD obligations. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for any tax penalties arising from inaccurate information you submit or missed deadlines outside our control.
8. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. We'll notify you of significant changes. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
